Sergio Lopez-Rivera

Makeup Artist

One of the most highly regarded makeup artists in Hollywood today. His list of celebrity clients have included Alicia Silverstone, Keri Russell, Patricia Arquette, Kate Walsh and Christina Ricci among others. Sergio has been key in helping develop our outstanding color selections for the looks of the Beauty Book and has provided his expertise sharing phenomenal tips and tricks in the Beauty Book.

Pro Tips

1. Choose a flattering shade of eyeshadow and brush it over your lid and eyeliner, as close to the lashes as possible. Choose a lighter color for day and a richer, more dramatic color for evening glamour. For even more drama, put a light highlight of color under your browline or use a darker shade of shadow in the creases or outer lid area.

2. Apply a very small amount of highlighter to the highest points of your cheekbones after applying blush, to give your complexion a healthy glow.

Aliesh Pierce

Makeup Stylist and Skin Specialist

Aliesh is a world famous makeup stylist who has an elite list of clients including Vanessa Williams, Queen Latifah, the Obamas and more. As an experienced esthetician who understands skin, she was a key partner in developing shades for darker skin tones.

Pro Tips

1. When selecting a nude lipstick, women with deeper skin tones should look for lip color that has a richer hue. If you are a woman of color with lips that have two tones, rather than trying to correct the color, line your lips with a flesh tone pencil, then fill in with lipstick and dab a lighter gloss just in the center. Try Ultra Shine Lip Gloss Simple.

2. Use an Imperfection Corrector specially formulated for darker skin tones, when you need extra help concealing minor imperfections.
